BROOKLYN, April 3, 2024 — Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy (“Conservancy”) announces the election of Jennifer Hyman and Sejal Mukherjee the organization’s Board of Directors today. The election took place at the Conservancy’s Board Meeting on Wednesday, April 3.
“Jenn and Sejal are both fantastic additions to our board, and we’re excited to welcome them to the team,” shared Chris Coffey, Conservancy Board Chairman. “I’ve known Jenn for years. Nobody has stronger strategic business growth and leadership experience, which will be an invaluable asset. Sejal’s work as a seasoned attorney provides a unique and extremely valuable expertise to our board. With both being Brooklyn local residents, we’re excited to have them contribute to our work as we launch our summer season of free and affordable events.”
Hyman shared, “Brooklyn Bridge Park is the heart of Brooklyn and has made me feel since I moved here – pregnant with our first child – that Brooklyn would be our long-term home. To be in the heart of a vibrant city but still have access to water, green space, places to jog and bike and celebrate – it adds to the daily vibrancy of our lives. I am excited to join the board and help support the Conservancy’s rich arts and culture, environmental education, and recreation programs that help make the Park so special.”
Mukherjee reflected, “I am thrilled to join the Conservancy’s board and help support its critical mission. This opportunity perfectly aligns with my passion for environmental conservation and community engagement. From the first days of moving to Brooklyn from Manhattan back in 2017, the Park played a meaningful role in our family’s enthusiasm for the borough. I am excited to contribute in the preservation of one of New York City’s most cherished landmarks while helping foster a sense of belonging and engagement within our community.”
