Brooklyn Bridge Park is an 85-acre, 1.3-mile public space along the Brooklyn waterfront. Our mission is to connect people, nature, and the waterfront through inclusive, innovative, and sustainable management and design. Our vision is to contribute to a healthier, more livable city.

Park concessionaires are selected through a public request for proposals process, and procurements are solicited in accordance with BBP’s Procurement Policy. All concession opportunities, and certain procurement opportunities, are posted at The City Record Online.

Brooklyn Bridge Park published its Master Plan in 2000.

Demolition on the waterfront began in 2008.

Construction of the park began in January 2009.

In 1989 the Brooklyn Heights Association proposed the “Harbor Park” plan, the beginnings of what would become Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Long Leaf Yellow Pine from the demolished Cold Storage Buildings is reused as cladding on park structures and custom-designed park benches.

More than 13,000 timber piles support the piers in the Park.

More than 5 million people visit the Park each year.
